Interested in fishing? Looking into getting more active outdoors and on the water? You've come to the right place! Join the IGFA in our upcoming events to learn the basics of fishing and scientific research for conservation, and you can try to catch your very own fish! 


    Family Fishing Fun Days! 


These IGFA Family Fishing Fun Days will introduce you and your children to the basics of recreational fishing in both freshwater and saltwater locations. The IGFA will provide all of the necessary instruction, bait, and fishing equipment so please do not bring your own rods and tackle. Educational activities will include: basic tackle and knot tying, rules and regulations, fishing safety and casting, catch and release techniques, AND FISHING! 
Fishing at these Fun Days is strictly catch and release for conservation purposes. 

  • Parent participation and supervision is required for the duration of the event. *If parents or any person over the age of 16 would like to fish along with your children, you will need to purchase your freshwater and/or saltwater fishing license. You may purchase online at: or from BassPro Shops (200 Gulf Stream Way, Dania Beach, FL 33004). 
  • Although these events are free to attend, pre-registration is required. *Note: This does not include any park admission fees. 
  • Parents must sign IGFA's waiver before participating in activities.
  • IGFA recommends you bring sunscreen, bug spray, hat and sunglasses, water, and a lawn chair and/or blanket.
